Well looka' there!

Hey yall!...I have been getting poked and stabbed by pins for a few hours but the end result I am very proud of...I am getting better at this bag making thing; I must give myself some credit....My Bag Making Bible is a true asset as I use techniques from the book constantly...on my new bag set, I learned how to make gussets and tried another zipper technique...the new zipper technique makes matching zippy pouch look neater, more profesh (in my girl Lisa Lam's wording)....I wish I had a dressform soooo bad because I know I would have much more clothes to share...I may end up getting one soon...I hope so....I have to go to the stores a little later (Target, Save Mart, Joann's)....my huny promised me the new SewItAll Volume 4 and I am NOT going to let him forget it!...hehehehe!....Well let me share the latest MsKRS' creations, I dont wanna bore you with my rambling....I can talk forever, especially when around good friends and my beers!...ttys!

Hey Hey Hey Folks!
I'm trying to keep up with my sewing and my blog so here goes another ;).....I was trying to come up with something to sew today....I thought about the Style Shopper in Amy Butler's book but I didnt want to part with that much material and interfacing (her bag patterns call for a lot of supplies)....then I thought about teaching myself a new technique out of my faves new book (Lisa Lam) but I got sidetracked looking at Old Navy's site.....While surfing the site (no pun intended lol) , I saw a few totebags with super cool, raw edges, grommets, and applique that I thought was the cutest thing...It was on sale for $10.00 and I would have gladly given them those dollars for any one of the totes they offer....but since I have been blessed to sew, I decided to make my own version of it....It was fun for me too because I got to use some of the supplies that I seldom use in my sewing such as fabric spray and glitter, I didnt have any grommets...that would have been a new skill to add to my resume as well because I have never installed grommets before....tonight I am going to tie-dye some more letters for another similar tote....I am so glad I sew...I can always have something tailored to ME....

Me + my blog

With all that goes on in my life, I sometimes forget to take advantage of the cool little things in life like my blog.....Its almost like my online diary of sewing and other thoughts I have and I tend to ignore it; but not on purpose....My sewing friends are the best...its sooo "me" that I get to view all of their pretty creations....I wish all the time that at least one of them lived closer....some of them live all the way in Australia and the UK!...the ideas they come up with just simply rock....I even follow a few pages on FB that I cant even understand; but the bags are exquisite.....Well, I just wanted to say "Hi" and show off my new skirt I made the other day....I will perfect the next one....hehehehehe well hopefully.....I have some striped knit fabric I was trying to save for the 4th of July festivities I may attend....I have been looking online at patterns and ideas for inspiration for it....I hope there is enough to make a matching bag; I believe I have two yards of it....

I survived!

Hey yall!...I survived my last two courses and passed them too!...that means I get a little break.....my final grades havn't posted yet but my units show im good!..whew!...(remember, I was taking Statistics)...and I have been taking advantage of that break already by sewing up a few new things...I have been sewing up clothes, (no piccies of my new skirt) but I will share my new sunglasses case and zippy pouches....(did I already show you the one with the kitties?)....I wanted to make a bag but I didnt feel like the dedication today...so I opted to sew a few small things....My daughter also graduated from high school recently as well!....let me stop rambling and show you the stuff...LOL...

Its too windy

Hey yall!...it has been a very windy couple of days so I have been inside....I have thee worst allergies in the world....with finals coming up fast, I haven't had a lot of time to sew....I did manage to make a tote bag though....it was my first applique bag I ever created....when finals are over, I am challenging myself to sew through Lisa Lam's new book "A Bag For All Reasons"....(I love that little lady)...she has some super cool bags in there....matter of fact the first one is a IPad case that is very cute....although I will probably alter it to make it more "purse-y" because I dont own an IPad! LOL....I was also able to get some super cool striped fabric that will be super cute maxi skirts after finals as well!....Hancock's is having a bad arse sale on everything right now...I took advantage......I know I should be writing but I have to sew something first.....hehehehe!...ttys.....

Maxi Skirt Mania

Hey folks! Just wanted to drop a few quick lines and share my new skirt with you!...  I have been sewing a few things but this one seems to have become my favorite....the Maxi Skirt....I will undoubtedly be living in these for the season because they are just so cute and comfy!...I am visiting the fabric store to make another one to match some new flats I purchased the other day....Sewing is a habit I wont even try to break.....Sew Forever!....ttys!

Sewing Mamma Jamma

Now I know I have been gone for a while but I am glad to report that things have been okay....Little glitches here and there but nothing that made any real difference....I have been on the clothes rage because every spring and summer I live in skirts and maxi dresses and big, big bags....well this go round nothing has changed but I get to make my own!....LUCKY ME because I sew now and I can create my own beautiful skirts nad dresses in my own style and on my own time.....I also recently discovered MiMi G.....OMG is all I will say and go and look her up when you get a chance....if you dont sew, you will seriously consider it when you see what she is constantly up to.....I love her enough said.....I made another Bucket Bag (courtesy of my favorite bag lady Lisa Lam) yesterday for my aunt and I will include a photo of it with this post too......I have created two pencils skirts, one for me and one for my daughter, and I made a maxi dress too...I didnt take any photos of it though, I think it needs more done to it anyway.....Oh, did I mention that I have an "A" in Statistics!!!!!?????...well I do and this will look reallll good on my transcripts.....I dont want to make too long of a post and I know you are itching to see those photos...well are you?...LOL...j/k....ttys....

I have been somewhat neglecting my blog!...but I have posted something at least once this month....(smile)....I have been sewing things and trying to get my hands on as much fabric as I possibly can....Have I ever mentioned that I was addicted to fabric, notions and all other things sewing?...I figured I would post something new on my blog just to let everyone know im still here!...This is my latest MsKRS creation I have named "Tropical Happiness"......this is some super cool fabric I spotted at one of our local craft stores.....Do you like it?....I may keep this one....;)

MsKRS + decoupage

My 1st HANDMADE event

How is everyone!?...Guess what?...I participated in my first handmade event this past weekend!...I must say it was a GOOD time.....I originally thought I was going to be unable to partipate; I found out last minute sorta....I was contacted right before the event though and was invited to show off my goods!.....I met some of the craftiest people with some of the best personalities....I would do it all over again...even though my display could have used more "display"....LOL...I will surely be ready next time....My super supportive huny was there with me too and we met a buncha other cool people...(remember he paints so he was right at home too).....My brother walked through the bazaar and it kinda sparked his old interests in drawing...Maybe we will all participate in the next one....The event was held in downtown Fresno at Fulton 55 and was coordinated by the members of The Soulflower Group....we had two floors full of super cool handmade goods; I believe there were 30 vendors! (I am so lucky to have been one huh?).....the turnout exceeded expectations of the coordinators....Last count was past 850 people!....It was sooooo cool....I want to give a big, giant THANK YOU to Devoya Mayo as well (Devoya was the event coordinator and leading lady in The Soulflower Group and CEO of Hellacrafty which is some of her handmade creations).....I love the handmade community and extremely proud to be a part of it!  You can take a look at the photos to get a glimpse of the event on my FB page...its kinda too many to upload here.......go to:  https://www.facebook.com/MsKRSPinkStitches to check out the photos......they hardly tell the story of the event though, because there was just so much more to see....Did I mention the event was 5 hours long with a different (super cool) DJ every hour and tasty spirits being served?!?!....AND my friend was there as well, her name is Markeys of One'tta Inspires selling beautiful handmade earrings!!!!!...I was lucky enough to get a pair and cant wait to wear em!.....Well I guess I have talked enough; LOL...until next time!

Frame Purse Frenzy

I did it!....after the minor crisis I finally finished my first frame purse.....I want to warn all of my crafter friends to NEVER use Gorilla Glue as it is not for crafts; or anything else for that matter....(I have tried it for several things)....well here it is...whatdaya think? :).....(the buttons are from my Mom's stash; they may be over 40 years old!)....this fabric is also to die for....

New Year + Makeup roll

Happy New Year if I have yet to say it!....Nothing special has been happening, my classes start tomorrow but my books arent here yet...geez...anyway I just thought I would pop in and say Hey to everyone....oh, I took a break from bag making (for like two minutes, LOL) and I made my first makeup brush roll...it came out really good and I know the next one will be perfect....I may make a few more for my Etsy shop; to have a new item in there....I only have bags and pouches now...TTYS....btw, whadaya think of my makeup roll?....
